The Jharkhand government increased employee dearness allowance to 50%

<p>The dearness allowance (DA) for state government workers in Jharkhand has been increased from 46% to 50% of their base pay. The decision, which took effect on January 1st of this year, was approved by the government under the direction of Chief Minister Champai Soren.</p>

<p>“Dearness allowance and dearness relief have been increased by four percent to fifty percent,” stated Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel. Approximately 1.90 lakh workers and pensioners throughout the state are expected to gain from this modification. Notably, the family members of the deceased pensioner will get the dearness assistance.</p>
<p>The elevation of DA is notable among the thirty ideas that were agreed upon at the cabinet meeting. Arrears for the previous three months will be included in the rise for the workers. Furthermore, with a monthly salary of Rs 2,500, the government has approved the hiring of Panchayat Secretariat volunteers on a contractual basis to staff village aid desks.</p>
<p>In addition, the cabinet has approved funding for Jharkhand Bhawan development in New Delhi as well as the assessment of housing allowances for government workers. Under a program to enable pilgrimages for those falling under the below-the-poverty-line (BPL) category, the state government also intends to add 11 pilgrimage sites inside Jharkhand and 30 sites around the nation.</p>
<p>With effect from January 1, 2024, the Union Cabinet has authorized an increase in dearness allowance for central government workers of 4%, reaching 50% of base salary. Over a crore pensioners and workers of the federal government would gain from this action. Furthermore, an increase in these workers’ home rent allowance (HRA) has been announced.</p>
<p>In his comments on the latest cabinet decisions, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said that the exchequer would have to pay Rs 12,868 crore only for the DA rise alone. Additionally, the government increased poverty alleviation by 4%. Usually, DA and DR are changed twice a year, starting in January and July, respectively.</p>
