IND vs. SA 2023: Temba Bavuma to Reappear in Full-Strength Test Squad, Aiden Markram to Lead South Africa In White-Ball Games

<p>The teams for Cricket South Africa’s (CSA) home series against Team India have been announced. For the limited-overs matches, Temba Bavuma has been rested, while Aiden Markram will captain the home team. But with the WTC points at stake, Bavuma will be back for the crucial two-Test series, when the Proteas will go all out for the same.</p>

<p>The Western Province-born fast bowling combination of David Bedingham, Nandre Burger, and Mihlali Mpongwana has received a call-up to the national side for the first time. Bedingham is limited to the Test squad, while Burger has secured a spot in all three squads for the home season. Mpongwana, on the other hand, earned a berth in the 50-overs squad after having a great run in the CSA Division 1 One-Day Cup.</p>
<p>Stubbs, who has played for the national side in 16 T20Is and one ODI, has been included in the Test squad for the first time. Another uncapped player in the ODI and T20I team is Dolphins seamer Ottniel Baartman, who averages 23.11 and 17.39 in the two formats, respectively.</p>
<p>Rabada and Bavuma will both be back for the red-ball leg but won’t be playing in the white-ball matches. In order to play first-class cricket prior to the Test series, Gerald Coetzee, Marco Jansen, and Lungi Ngidi will skip the ODI and third T20I series.</p>
<p>Anrich Nortje and Wayne Parnell were not selected since they are still recovering from their injuries. Quinton de Kock has agreed to participate in the Big Bash League and will not be participating in the T20Is.</p>
<p><strong>The Proteas team that will play Team India in the series:</strong></p>
<p>T20I squad: David Miller, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram (captain), Lungi Ngidi, Andile Phehlukwayo, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs, Lizaad Williams, Donovan Ferreira, Nandre Burger, Gerald Coetzee, Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen, Donovan Ferreira, Reeza Hendricks, and Matthias Breetzke.</p>
<p>The following players are in the ODI squad: Aiden Markram (captain), Tony de Zorzi, Nandre Burger, Reeza Hendricks, Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Andile Phehlukwayo, Tabraiz Shamsi, Rassie van der Dussen, Kyle Verreyne, and Lizaad Williams.</p>
<p>Temba Bavuma (captain), Adrian Markram, Wiaan Mulder, David Bedingham, Nandre Burger, Gerald Coetzee, Tony de Zorzi, Dean Elgar, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, Keegan Petersen, Kagiso Rabada, Tristan Stubbs, and Kyle Verreyne comprise the test team.</p>
